Congratulations: LVTC won great results in the 14th Guangxi Chinese Classics Reading Competition

From News Center (text & photos by Yang Heng, School of General Education) Recently, the Guangxi Department of Education announced the winners of the 14th Guangxi Chinese Classics Reading Competition and the 2021 Guangxi Campus Chinese Classics Reading Competition. Liang Meiying, The participating students tutored by Huang Limin and Yang Heng won the second and third prizes respectively. LVTC won the Outstanding Organization Award, and Liang Meiying won the honorary title of “Excellent Instructor”.

In May 2021, the Language Affairs Committee and the Department of Education of Guangxi organized the Chinese Classics Reading Contest for the purposes of  implementing the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on education and language work, guiding the general public, particularly instructing the young people to love Chinese classics, cultivating the spirit of patriotism, enhancing cultural awareness and cultural self-confidence, and inheriting the excellent traditional Chinese culture. The number of participants allowed was limited with low proportion of awards. Instructors and contestants went all out to polish their works. With only 3 domestic students participating, LVTC finally achieved the best results over the years. Among them, Wei Tianle, a student tutored by teacher Liang Meiying, won the second prize in the second group of college students, and Jin Xiao, tutored by teacher Huang Limin, won the third prize in the second group. It is worth mentioning that it was the first time for LVTC to organize international students to participate in this competition. Chen Junhao, an international student tutored by teacher Yang Heng, won the third prize in the individual foreign student group. LVTC is the only higher vocational college that won the award in the foreign student group. . In addition, LVTC also won the Outstanding Organization Award, and Teacher Liang Meiying won the honorary title of “Excellent Instructor”.

This competition was connected to the school’s general skills competition --Chinese Classics Reading Competition. The leaders of School of General Education attached great importance to it, and carefully organized the teaching team of Chinese courses to formulate activity plans and strive to make the school’s Chinese Classics Reading Competition a “One of the Best ”, contributing to the promotion of campus cultural construction.
